Hello! I am excited to join the team at CCDC and look forward to a wonderful school year with our students and families.
I have been working in education since 2000 and have had the opportunity to teach a variety of grade levels, with most of my experience in Pre-K and Kindergarten. Throughout my career, I have also served in Reading Intervention, Literacy Coaching, and Special Education. I am passionate about teaching and learning, especially guiding our youngest learners in building a strong foundation for lifelong success!
I hold an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education, and a Masters in Elementary Education with a concentration in Literacy. In addition I have completed professional training in Reading Recovery and LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling).
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy many activities and spending time with my family. My husband is a high school music teacher. I have four children: a son that is a mechanic with the Department of Transportation, twin daughters that are beginning college this fall, and my youngest daughter is a senior in high school. I enjoy reading, baking, serving in children’s ministry at my church and spending time outside in nature.
I am thrilled to be a part of the CCDC community and look forward to a fun, engaging and successful school year!!
